Christmas is About JESUS
CHRISTMAS! Presents! Decorations, lights, food, family! All this = Christmas? Well, not really. It’s important to know how something began. The purpose of it if you like, before you can think of modifying it. Guess what, Christmas was centered around the idea of celebrating Christ a.k.a. Jesus. Specifically acknowledging that He was born and went on to be extraordinary and save the world. Well, save the part of the world that chooses Him.
The reason a lot of people around the world are uncomfortable with the origins of Christmas isn't mainly because they don't want to be with family and friends, it isn't because of the food or drink and most times, it isn't even because of the sometimes irritating commercialism that surrounds this holiday in recent decades. They are uncomfortable with what it means but want to "enjoy" what surrounds it. When CHRIST is taken out of Christmas and replaced with an X, the entire purpose of the day becomes ambiguous and open to a plethora of interpretations most of which are very far removed from what the day commemorates. It's a birthday celebration! It’s like going to a party celebrating someone you don't agree with or even like.
Well, the great thing about the person who's birthday it is, is that he is very accepting of the people others look down on in society. In fact He told a story of a rich man who invited the whole town to a party, 'feast'. Everyone was invited.* (see below for details)
That is Christmas. There are no outcasts. It’s not about presents, there is no Santa. There is only Jesus. The story about him doesn’t end at the nativity scene, it doesn’t even begin there. Get to know the one who can transform your life and help you transform the lives of others. It’s not ‘just’ a religion. It’s a lifestyle. It’s a journey. It’s the greatest love story of all time. It’s a relationship you can have.

* Matthew 22:1-14. Jesus spoke to them again in parables, saying: 2 “The kingdom of heaven is like a king who prepared a wedding banquet for his son. 3 He sent his servants to those who had been invited to the banquet to tell them to come, but they refused to come.4 “Then he sent some more servants and said, ‘Tell those who have been invited that I have prepared my dinner: My oxen and fattened cattle have been butchered, and everything is ready. Come to the wedding banquet.’5 “But they paid no attention and went off—one to his field, another to his business. 6 The rest seized his servants, mistreated them and killed them. 7 The king was enraged. He sent his army and destroyed those murderers and burned their city.8 “Then he said to his servants, ‘The wedding banquet is ready, but those I invited did not deserve to come. 9 So go to the street corners and invite to the banquet anyone you find.’ 10 So the servants went out into the streets and gathered all the people they could find, the bad as well as the good, and the wedding hall was filled with guests.11 “But when the king came in to see the guests, he noticed a man there who was not wearing wedding clothes. 12 He asked, ‘How did you get in here without wedding clothes, friend?’ The man was speechless.13 “Then the king told the attendants, ‘Tie him hand and foot, and throw him outside, into the darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’14 “For many are invited, but few are chosen.”
