A Fight - To Get Things Done

Fighting is an essential part of life. Yes it is.

Collins Dictionary states one definition of fight as to "try in a determined way to get [something] or achieve [something]." Achievement rarely comes without some effort. So, in our Christian lives, we also need to push things through. Why? Because "The Kingdom of God suffers violence"

"Spiritual warfare" isn't weird terminology. It's an essential aspect of being a victorious Christian.

Christians are associated with many stereotypes many of which are inaccurate and can depict us as either soft or uncompromising.

Two people battling

Today, we look at Christians who are movers and shakers.

Those who model themselves after Jesus who himself turned tables upside down when He saw wrong being done in the house of God the Father. Jesus who told us that a strong man has to be bound in order for his house to be plundered (Mark 3:27). Earlier in that passage he says Satan cannot drive out Satan (verses 23-26). Jesus also said that the Kingdom of God suffers violence, the violent will take it by force. [Matthew 11:12].

This is a loaded statement but for this blog we'll state simply that we need to be ready to take from the darkness what God intended for us to have -

right standing with Him through accepting Jesus,

comfort and guidance through the Holy Spirit,

going out to share Gods good news of a life transformed for all who believe Him,

a peace that passes all understanding,

faith, hope and love,

wisdom and understanding,

life not just any life but an abundant life!

In every fight there is an antagonist - the bad guy so to speak. We call him the enemy of our faith, the devil, Satan, the evil one, etc.

As his names suggests, he doesn't want what's good for us. In fact we are clearly informed that He comes only to kill, steal and destroy (John 10:10).

The amazing thing is that same verse gives the solution for this badest of bad guys. The solution is Jesus. Just Jesus - the Word that became flesh. Following Gods Word, knowing it for ourselves, using it to know the weapons to fight with.

John 10: 10 - The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.

Those weapons are deployed by PRAYING.

Praying about everything. Not to inform God about what's up but to ask Him to intervene and for us to take our victory. We are victorious. We just need to take the victory.

How?

1. Right standing with God a.k.a. righteousness. This is through accepting Jesus and confessing our wrongs to Him.

2. Truth. God's Word, his ways. Belief in His truth first about all subjects.

3. Gods peaceful message of wanting to have a great relationship with humanity whom He made. Despite how messed up things are.

4. Faith. This is the number one way to battle through life - hope for things which are not yet seen. As long as it's Godly, we follow Gods plan to get it and we ask, we will receive.

5. Salvation. Filtering all our thoughts through Gods sieve. Working towards Godly thoughts. As a man or woman thinks, so is he / she.

6. The Word of God - the Bible. The most effective weapon known as the sword of the Holy Spirit. The Bible has insights and guidance for getting us to win in this life and get us to the better life with God in the after life.

Please reference Ephesians 6:10 - 20

and have a victorious week which will be a foundation for your victorious life of faith!
