"I Don't Feel Like It"
Sometimes we just need a break. Other times we want some leeway to get away with bad habits or decisions. Many times we face challenges that can knock us a few pegs down and zap the enthusiasm out of us. Notice how life just doesn't care most of the time? It sucks really but when life's circumstances get me down, something that always helps is looking at how many other people make it through tough situations.
I watched a documentary on Why So Many US Women Die giving birth. It's been months since I saw it but I can't get it out of my mind. The US has some great public relations - most times. I won't get into the presidents comments on anything political really. We aren't here for it - right now. The documentary was an insight into something a number of people don't give much thought to, unless they are affected by it. It isn't even widely publicized. However, imagine the emotions of losing a loved one in such a way. It should be a joyful time but then tragedy strikes.
A totally different scenario: raising a young family, working full time and trying to still be a "good wife". We need more hours in the day! Because there is so much we want from life.
How about being a full time student and working two or three jobs to pay your way through college and afford food while still studying. It's easy to want to give something up or call in sick just to get some rest.
There was a woman who just kept being persistent and in the end the judge she was petitioning gave in and gave her what she asked for. This is recorded in Luke 18:1-8. I encourage you to check it out. It is practical and we can all do it. I quote "One day Jesus told his disciples a story to show that they should always pray and never give up." Luke 18:1
'Take heart' is an old fashioned term but simply means - be encouraged!! Life can be tiresome and we may want to give up on projects, dreams and sometimes even people! When that feeling comes, take a break, rejuvenate, pray and get back to believing it can and will happen. Get back to faith. Believe people and circumstances can change. God can do it. He's grace is sufficient.
CHANGE HAPPENS. EXPERIENCE IT!
